Funding for novel cancer research ideas

The Pioneer Award is a unique funding scheme, from Cancer Research UK, for higher-risk, novel ideas with the potential to be game-changing research projects. It provides funding of £200,000 over two years and is open to all careers stages (including Post-doctoral researchers) across all disciplines.

You don’t need vast amounts of data to apply. Instead the diverse Pioneer Award Committee of innovators – including Billy Boyle, Co-founder and CEO of Owlstone Medical - will review all applications, focusing on the potential imapct of your idea.

It’s easy to apply with just a brief, 2-page proposal to summarise your innovative idea. The Pioneer Committee then anonymously judge the proposals, the best of which are invited to pitch.

If you have a revolutionary idea, submit your brief proposal and within four months you could have the funding to set it in motion.
